Curly hair extensions from WAVE are 100% double drawn Remy human hair in genuine curl patterns, from 2B waves to 4C coils, matched to your own hair by curl code. Choose nano bonds, K-tips, tape-ins, weft bundles or clip-ins, with free colour and curl matching before you order.
Most extension brands are built around straight, uniform hair. That leaves curly-haired clients choosing between a texture that never quite blends and straightening their own hair to hide the join. WAVE was built the other way round. Every pattern below is genuinely curly hair, not straight hair set with heat, so it holds its shape wash after wash.
Hair extensions for afro and Black hair
If you have afro or textured Black hair, the hard part is rarely your colour, it is finding a real curl and coil pattern that matches yours. Most UK brands stop at a loose wave. WAVE goes all the way to 4C, with Kinky Curly, Burmese Curly, Jerry Curl and Kinky Straight in genuine type 4 textures, so the hair blends into your own rather than sitting on top of it. Every pattern is 100% Remy human hair, so it washes, coils and behaves the way your hair does.
Can you get curly hair extensions that actually blend?
You can, but only if the extension matches your curl pattern rather than just your colour. Colour is the easy half. A perfect shade match in the wrong texture still reads as fake the moment the hair dries, because the two textures move differently.
That is the whole reason we label every product with its curl type on the standard 2A to 4C scale. You are matching a pattern, not guessing from a photo.
Find your curl pattern
Look at your hair on a day you have washed it and let it dry with nothing in it. That is your true pattern.
- 2B/2A Soft Wave. A loose natural bend rather than a defined S.
- 2C/2B Water Wave. A defined S wave that holds without product. One of our two best sellers.
- 2C/3A Deep Wave. A deeper, springier wave running into a loose curl. Our other best seller. Deep Wave also comes as a tighter 3A/3B in weft bundles and tape-ins.
- 2C/3B Sahara Curly. Larger, rounded curls that clump into soft sections as they dry.
- 3B/4A Burmese Curly. Defined spiral curls that clump naturally. In weft bundles, Burmese Curly is our tightest coil.
- 3C/4A Jerry Curl. A tight, uniform curl with real bounce.
- 4B/4A Kinky Curly. A dense, springy coil for type 4 hair. This is the range almost no UK supplier stocks.
- Kinky Straight. Textured straight with natural body, for blending with blow-dried, pressed or relaxed textured hair.
If you fall between two patterns, choose the looser one. A slightly looser extension blends into a tighter curl far more forgivingly than the other way round. Our curl type guide walks through it properly if you are unsure.
Which curl patterns come in which method?

Shop curly extensions by fitting method
Each method has its own page with fitting notes and care advice for curly hair specifically.
- Curly hair extensions, 3A to 3C. Defined spiral curls, from open loops to corkscrews. Deep wave, Sahara curly, Burmese curly and Jerry curl.
- Coily and afro hair extensions, 4A to 4C. Genuine type 4 coils, including kinky curly, Burmese curly and kinky straight.
- Curly clip in hair extensions. No appointment, no commitment. In and out in ten minutes and the best way to test a blend before going semi-permanent.
- Curly hair bundles. Weft bundles for sew-in and hand-tied fitting, from water wave through to kinky curly.
- Curly tape in hair extensions. Lightweight and reusable. Worth knowing that almost nobody else in the UK makes these in a real curl pattern.
- Curly nano bonds. The most discreet semi-permanent option, fitted strand by strand with silicone-lined rings, no heat and no glue.
- Wavy hair extensions. If your pattern is a wave rather than a curl, start here instead.
Two things clients always misjudge
Curl shrinks. A 20 inch kinky curly set can sit closer to 14 inches once the pattern springs up, and the tighter the curl the bigger the difference. Most people are happier ordering one length longer than they first think. Always look at wet length and dry length before you commit.
Curl reads darker. The pattern traps light instead of reflecting it, so the same shade looks deeper in a curl than it does straight. If you are matching from a photo, go one step lighter than looks right. Our colour match service does this for you.
Frequently asked questions
Are WAVE curly hair extensions real human hair?
Yes. Every set is 100% double drawn Remy human hair, so it washes, styles and behaves like your own hair.
Do you have hair extensions for afro and Black hair?
Yes. WAVE carries genuine type 4 textures up to 4C, including Kinky Curly, Burmese Curly, Jerry Curl and Kinky Straight, so afro and Black hair can be matched on coil pattern, not just colour.
How much do curly hair extensions cost?
Curly nano bonds and K-tips start at £161.99 per 50g pack, curly tape-ins at £175, weft bundles at £199.99 and curly clip-in sets at £229. A typical full head of nano bonds is three packs, £485.97 at 16 inches up to £675 at 24 inches, before fitting.
How many packs of curly nano bonds do I need for a full head?
A typical full head takes three 50g packs, about 150 strands. Fine hair may need fewer, and thick hair or the longest lengths more. Your stylist will confirm at consultation.
Do curly hair extensions blend with natural curls?
Yes, when the curl pattern is matched as carefully as the colour. Matching colour alone is the most common reason a set looks obvious.
Which method is best for curly hair?
Clip-ins if you want no commitment, nano bonds for the most discreet permanent finish, weft bundles for the most volume, tape-ins if your curls are on the finer side. Tighter patterns from 4B upwards generally sit best in bundles or nano bonds.
What curl types do you cover?
2B through to 4C: soft wave, water wave, deep wave, Sahara curly, Burmese curly, Jerry curl, kinky curly and kinky straight.
What lengths and shades are available?
16 to 24 inches as standard, with longer lengths in some textures by message. Shade choice varies by pattern and method: Sahara and Burmese Curly nano bonds come in 14 shades, and the wider WAVE range runs to 60+.
Can curly hair extensions be straightened and re-curled?
Yes. As 100% Remy human hair they take heat like your own hair, and the curl pattern returns after the next wash. Use a heat protectant and keep the temperature moderate.
How do you care for curly hair extensions?
Wash once or twice a week with a sulphate free shampoo, deep condition weekly, detangle only when damp and always from the ends up, and sleep in a loose pineapple bun. Never brush curly hair dry. Our curly care guide covers the full routine.
