Be equally clear about the method: tape adhesive bonds to flat hair, so the root must be blow dried smooth at fitting and stay smooth day to day. A client who air dries from wet and never touches the root will lose panels, and belongs in nano bonds or wefts instead.

Take a fine, clean section, smooth it, and close two tabs around it leaving a small gap at the scalp so the panel can pivot. Keep rows level and set back from the hairline. Curl separates as it dries, so an untidy panel shows in a way it would not under straight hair. Place panels slightly lower than on a straight set, giving the curl room without pushing upwards, and never cut into a tab to reshape one.
Book the refit at six weeks, stretching to eight only where product placement has been careful. Why does a curly tape in need a smooth root?
Because the adhesive can only bond to a flat surface. A textured root gives the tab very little contact area, so the panel works loose within a few weeks. Blow the root section smooth at fitting, and make sure the client understands she needs to keep those first couple of centimetres smooth rather than letting them curl up from wet.
How many packs make a full head?
Two to three 50g packs for most full heads, depending on her own density and the length. Curly hair fills space more than straight hair at the same weight, so a set needing three packs in a straight texture will often look right with two here. A partial head or a volume top-up usually takes one.
Is 6 to 8 weeks not short for tape extensions?
Six weeks is the working figure, sometimes eight where product placement has been careful. The oils and creams a defined curl needs to stay soft are the same products that break a tape bond down, and root growth is more obvious under a defined curl. Book maintenance at six weeks and stretch to eight only when the panels are clearly holding.
Can the curl be straightened while the tapes are in?
Yes, with a heat protectant at a moderate temperature, avoiding the tabs themselves with the iron. Do not make a habit of it. Direct heat near a panel softens the adhesive, and repeated ironing loosens the curl formation over the life of the set. A client wanting it straight most weeks should be fitted with a straight texture.
