Extension Weave Thread (Cotton)
Tools and consumables for fitting weft hair extensions: cotton weave thread for sew-in tracks, micro rings and bent nose pliers for beaded rows, alligator sectioning clips, and the two brushes that will not tear at a seam. Stocked in the UK for stylists fitting flat wefts and sew-ins.
Worth being straight about this shelf. The only item made purely for weft work is the cotton thread. The rest is shared kit that matters on a sew-in: beads and pliers because braidless rows anchor on 5mm micro rings, clips because a row is only as straight as the section above it, brushes because a stitched seam is where the wrong one does damage. We do not carry needles or braiding supplies.
The thread has a second use. Stitching clips along the top seam of a flat weft turns permanent hair into a clip-in set, keeping the first and last clip inside the width of the section they grip. That suits a client who wants length for events only.
On this shelf
- Cotton weave thread, one reel, for sew-in tracks and for attaching clips
- Micro rings, 5mm, silicone lined, for beaded and braidless rows
- Bent nose pliers to close a bead half a centimetre from the scalp
- Alligator sectioning clips for the row above the one you are working
- Boar bristle brush for straight and wavy sets, curl defining brush for 2A to 4C, wet only
The hair these fit is on flat weft hair extensions, aftercare is under haircare, and the rest of the kit is on all professional tools.
Weft fitting tools FAQ
Do you sell curved weaving needles?
Not at the moment. We stock the cotton thread, the beads and the pliers, but not needles or foundation braiding supplies, so bring the needle you already work with. A curved one follows the shape of the braid rather than fighting it.
Do I need rings to fit a weft?
Only for a beaded row. Sew-in wefts are stitched to a braided foundation with thread and use no beads at all. Braidless and beaded methods anchor on micro rings closed with pliers, so the kit depends on the technique you use.
Which brush is safe on wefted hair?
A weft seam lies flat to the head and catches plastic bristles in a way a strand bond does not. Boar bristle flexes past the seam instead of dragging on it. Curly and coily wefts should not be dry brushed at all.
Thread and beads go every row, so this is the method where steady restocking counts. A WAVE trade account takes 20% off, up to 30%, with no minimum.
