Tape in extension supplies for stylists: replacement tape tabs, a coconut scented adhesive remover and alligator sectioning clips. This is the refit shelf, what you need to strip, clean and re-tape a set so the same wefts go back on the head rather than into the bin.

Refitting is the commercial argument for the method. Remy human hair outlives the adhesive holding it in, so at six to eight weeks the job is a tab change, not a fresh purchase of hair. Say it at consultation, because clients assume hair and adhesive expire together.

Working through a refit

  • Tape tabs, 60 per pack, latex free, cut for standard tape-in wefts
  • Coconut scented remover made for acrylic adhesive, with conditioning agents so hair is not left stripped
  • Alligator sectioning clips to keep the line clean as you sandwich rows
  • Lift old tabs with remover rather than peeling, then wash and fully dry the weft before re-taping

Hair to refit or replace is on tape in hair extensions, and keratin chemistry is under pre-bonded professional tools.

Tape in tools FAQ

How many times can a set of tape-in extensions be refitted?

It depends how the hair has been looked after, but Remy human hair routinely outlasts several rounds of adhesive. Each refit means stripping the old tab off, cleaning the weft properly and pressing a fresh one on in its place.

Why do re-taped extensions slip?

Residue, almost every time. Old adhesive left on the weft, moisture in a weft that was not fully dried, or conditioner near the root will all stop a new tab bonding. Have the client arrive with nothing on the scalp.

How many tabs does a full head need?

A full head usually runs 40 to 60 wefts depending on density and how many rows you fit, so one pack of 60 generally covers a single complete refit. Topping up a handful of slipped tapes goes a lot further.

Tabs are a repeat order by definition. The wider kit is on all professional tools; open a trade account to stop paying retail for them.
