Tape Hair Extension Remover - Coconut scent
A solution for tape hair extensions removal, scented with coconut. Its job is to break the adhesive bond between the two tabs so they separate on their own. The moment you try to peel a tape apart dry you start pulling at the natural hair sandwiched between them, and that is where removal damage comes from, not from the tapes themselves.
Used properly, the tab should slide apart with no resistance at all. If you are still tugging, the answer is more product and more waiting time, never more force.
How to use it:
- Apply a small amount directly along the seam of the tape tab
- Leave it a few minutes to work into the adhesive
- Ease the tabs apart with your fingers or the tail of a comb
- Repeat on any tab that still resists, and on any residue left in the hair
- Shampoo and condition afterwards to clear the solvent out
The formula includes conditioning agents so the hair is not left squeaking and stripped, and it clears without leaving a greasy film that would stop a fresh tab bonding later. That matters if you are re-taping the same wefts, because residue is the single most common cause of a refit slipping.
Suitable for salon and home use, though a full head is far easier with a second pair of hands. Precautions: keep away from the eyes and rinse immediately and thoroughly if contact occurs. Ingredients: SD Alcohol 40B, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethylpabamidopropyl Laurdimonium Tosylate, Isodecyl Neopentanoate, Phenethyl Benzoate, Parfum.
How long should I leave the remover on the tape?
Give it a few minutes before you touch the tab at all. The solution needs time to travel along the seam and soften the adhesive through its full width. If the tab still grips after that, reapply and wait again rather than pulling, because force is what damages the hair.
Will this work on keratin or K-tip bonds?
No. This is formulated for the acrylic adhesive used in tape-in extensions. Keratin K-tip bonds are a different chemistry and need our dedicated keratin bond remover instead.
Do I need to wash my hair after removing tape extensions?
Yes. Shampoo and condition once the tapes are out, both to clear the solvent and to lift any adhesive residue still clinging to the hair. If you are refitting the same day, make sure the hair is completely dry and product free at the root before new tabs go in.
