These are silicone lined nano rings, also called nano beads, for hair extensions, supplied in a tub of 1000 at 3mm diameter. The soft inner lining is the point of them. It gives the bead something to grip other than bare metal against the hair shaft, which means the bond holds its position between maintenance appointments without you having to over crimp it.

Nano rings are the smallest link method in common use, which is why they sit so flat and disappear in fine hair where a micro ring would show. They belong to nano bond fitting: no heat, no glue, no adhesive on the natural hair at all. The strand is threaded through the ring alongside a section of the client's own hair and the ring is crimped closed with pliers.

What is in the tub:

  • 1000 nano rings, 3mm
  • Silicone lined inner wall
  • Shades: Blonde, Brown, Dark Brown, Black
  • Fitting method: nano bond and I-tip strand extensions

Choose the lining version if your client has fine or fragile hair, or if you have had bonds slipping early. The cushioning spreads the pressure of the crimp over a wider area rather than concentrating it on one line across the strand. If your client reacts to silicone, or you specifically want the firmer bite of an unlined bead, use our nano rings with no silicone instead.

Shade choice: match the ring to the root colour rather than the extension hair, since the bead sits against the scalp. On rooted or balayage colours, go with the darker of the two. Salon professionals ordering rings alongside hair can apply for a trade account for 20% off retail, rising to 30%.

How many nano rings do I need for a full head?

A typical full head of three 50g packs of nano bonds is about 150 strands, and fuller sets can run to 250, so a tub of 1000 will cover several clients with rings left over for maintenance refits. Ordering by the tub rather than the packet is usually the cheaper way to work.

What is the difference between silicone lined and unlined nano rings?

The lined version has a soft inner wall that cushions the crimp, grips the hair a little better and is the gentler option on fine hair. The unlined version gives a firmer, more direct metal hold and is the one to reach for if your client is sensitive to silicone.

Do nano rings damage natural hair?

Fitted correctly they sit alongside the hair rather than adhering to it, and they come out by opening the bead back up. Damage usually comes from taking too large a section, crimping too hard, or leaving a set in past its maintenance window rather than from the rings themselves.
