K-Tips are the most discreet method we sell, and that matters most here, because there is no pattern to hide a bond behind. The keratin bond is rolled onto a small section of your own hair using heat, which seals it in place. Bonds are lifted and refitted every four to eight weeks.
Straight hair shows condition and it shows damage, so the routine is about keeping the cuticle smooth. Brush from the ends upwards, supporting the roots so you are not dragging on the bonds. It takes more handling than a textured set, but heat still costs shine.
Will straight extensions look flat against my own hair?
They hang the way straight hair hangs, which is rather the point of them. Volume in a straight set comes from placement rather than pattern, so a good stylist builds the rows to create shape. Say at consultation if you want body as well as length.
Can I straighten these extensions with irons?
Yes, this is Remy human hair and it takes heat as your own hair does. Use a protector, keep the plates well clear of the keratin bonds and avoid going over the same section repeatedly. Because the hair is already smooth, most clients need far less iron time.
Why choose K-Tips over tapes for straight hair?
K-Tips are individual strands rather than panels, so they follow the head closely and can be placed nearer a parting. The keratin bond is very small, which makes it gentler where the natural hair is fine.
Which length should I order?
Straight hair is measured as it hangs, so a 20 inch set wears at 20 inches with no allowance needed. Measure from where the first row will sit, usually just below the occipital bone, down to where you want the hair to finish, then pick the nearest length.
How many packs do I need for a full head?
Most clients need three packs for a full head at 150g, with a fourth for longer lengths or heavy density. Your stylist should confirm at consultation.
