Straight weft hair extensions from WAVE are 100% double drawn Remy human hair, sewn by machine into one continuous seam. The texture is type 1: flat and smooth from root to tip with no bend built into the strand. It suits clients whose own hair dries sleek, or who finish with a blow dry and irons as routine.
Type 1 hair reflects light evenly along the strand, so a straight weft disappears when the shade is right and announces itself when the tone is a fraction off. Match on tone before anything else. A client with a slight natural movement in her hair can still wear this, because it is always easier to bring a looser texture into line than to force a tighter one to sit flat.
Remy is the part that decides longevity. Every strand is kept facing the same way, root at the root and tip at the tip, so the cuticles all lie in one direction and slide past each other instead of catching. That is what stops the hair matting into itself after a few washes.

Fit by sewing onto a braided track, by braidless weave, or by threading microrings across a row and stitching the seam to them. The seam is machine locked rather than hand tied, so it holds up to being cut to width and refitted. Reckon on three bundles for a full head at 16 to 20 inches, and four at 22 inches and above, where the added length needs the added density to hang in balance.
Wash with a sulphate free shampoo through the mid-lengths rather than scrubbing at the seam, and rinse well so nothing builds up around the row. Use a loop brush from the ends upwards, holding above the track so it is never dragged. Irons and tongs are fine at moderate heat with a protectant. Kept that way the hair lasts up to nine months.
With no texture taking up length, a 20 inch bundle hangs at close to a full 20 inches once fitted, which makes this the most predictable length in the range to quote a client on.
How many bundles do I need for a full head?
Three bundles cover most full heads between 16 and 20 inches. At 22 inches and above, order four so the ends stay dense rather than tapering out at the bottom. A fine haired client having a partial head, or a thickening row or two through the crown, can often be done with two.
What does double drawn actually mean?
Single drawn hair contains mixed lengths, so it starts full at the seam and thins towards the ends. Double drawn hair has had most of the shorter strands removed, leaving a much more uniform length. The result is a weft that stays thick right to the ends and needs far less blunt cutting to look full.
Can this hair be toned or coloured?
It is genuine human hair and accepts a toner or a deposit only colour to knock back warmth or go slightly darker. We would not recommend lifting or bleaching it, because extension hair has no scalp feeding it and does not recover from over processing. Always strand test a spare piece first.
How long will a set last?
Up to nine months with correct aftercare, meaning sulphate free washing, no dragging at the row and moderate heat. Wefts are normally taken down and refitted every six to ten weeks as the client's own hair grows out, and the same hair goes back in each time.

Weft is sold by weight, so you can build the exact fullness you want. Around 150g suits most people for a full head; thicker or longer hair may need more.
