Daily Leave-In Elixir - Vanilla Scent
A 50ml daily leave-in elixir built on argan oil, with a warm vanilla scent. This is the small bottle that lives in a handbag and gets used on the ends of the hair most days. It is not a treatment you set aside time for. It is the thing that stops dry ends becoming tangled ends over the course of a week.
Extension hair has no oil supply of its own, so the ends of a set gradually roughen. Rough hair catches on itself, and hair that catches on itself tangles at the bonds. A couple of drops smoothed through the length flattens the surface back down and buys you the softness that keeps a set brushing out easily.
Details:
- 50ml, pocket sized
- Argan oil based, lightweight and non-greasy
- Vanilla fragrance
- Leave in, no rinsing
How to use it: dispense a small amount into your palms, rub them together, and apply through the mid-lengths and ends of damp or dry hair. Avoid the roots and the attachment points entirely. Oil at a tape tab or a nano ring is the fastest way to loosen it. Start with less than you think you need, because it is easy to add more and impossible to take it back out without washing.
It works on natural hair and extensions alike, and on any texture, though very fine hair should stick to a drop or two on the ends only. Precautions: rinse the eyes immediately and thoroughly on contact.
Will an oil damage my hair extension bonds?
Only if you apply it to them. Oil at a tape tab, nano ring or keratin bond will weaken the hold, which is why every instruction says to keep it to the mid-lengths and ends. Applied a few inches below the attachment point it is completely safe.
How much should I use?
Far less than most people reach for. A couple of drops is enough for shoulder length hair and four or five for a long, thick set. Rub it between your palms first so it spreads evenly rather than landing in one patch, and add more only if the ends still feel rough.
Can I use this before heat styling?
It is not a heat protectant and should not be relied on as one. Use a dedicated heat protection spray before straighteners or a curling iron, and apply this afterwards to smooth and finish. They do different jobs and layering them in that order works well.
