(2C/3A) Deep Wave | Double Drawn Machine Weft Bundles
Rich, defined curls with fullness from root to tip
Deep wave bundles at 2C/3A are the in-between texture. The hair waves at the root and gathers into a loose, open curl through the mid-lengths and ends rather than curling uniformly from the scalp down. Made from 100% double drawn Remy human hair on a machine weft, it is the pattern for hair too curly for a wave and not curly enough for a ringlet.
Getting these two confused is the most common ordering mistake. This 2C/3A begins as a wave and becomes a curl on the way down, so the root area stays relatively flat and the definition arrives lower. The 3A/3B Deep Wave is curly from the top with a smaller, tighter loop throughout. Hold a dry section at eye level: distinct loops within the first few inches of root means order the 3A/3B, ripple at the top with loops only towards the ends means this one. Undecided? Go looser, because a looser weft is easy to tighten with product and a tighter one is impossible to calm.
Each bundle is Remy, meaning the strands were kept root to tip in one direction so the cuticle scales all face downwards. That detail separates hair that keeps its pattern for months from hair that turns rough and knotted once the cuticles start fighting each other.
- Hair: 100% double drawn Remy human hair
- Pattern: Deep Wave, 2C/3A, wave at the root into loose curl
- Weight: 100g per bundle
- Lengths: 16, 18, 20, 22 and 24 inches
- Construction: machine sewn continuous weft
- Fitting: sew-in, braidless weave or microring
Sew onto a braided track, fit braidless, or run on microrings. With a root flatter than the ends, the first row can go slightly higher than on a properly curly weft without bulking at the crown. Blend by diffusing the client's hair and the weft together rather than cutting in with thinning shears, which shortens random strands and breaks the formation lower down. Three bundles to 20 inches, four from 22 inches, as the curl at the ends absorbs visual length.
Sulphate free shampoo at the scalp, rinsed through the lengths. Detangle only with conditioner in, wide tooth comb, ends upwards in small sections. Dry brushing destroys this pattern. Scrunch curl cream into soaking hair, then diffuse low or leave to dry. Refresh mornings with water and a little leave-in rather than rewetting the whole head. Nine months is realistic.
Curl take-up is noticeable here. A 20 inch deep wave typically hangs around 16 to 17 inches once dry and formed, so if a client asks for hair finishing at the bust line, measure her and go up a size.
Should I order 2C/3A or 3A/3B?
Order 2C/3A if your client's hair ripples at the root and only forms loops towards the ends. Order 3A/3B if defined loops are visible within the first few inches of root. Torn between them, take the looser 2C/3A: a looser texture can be tightened with product and a diffuser, whereas a tighter one sits proud of her own hair.
How much length does the curl take up?
Expect a 20 inch bundle to hang at around 16 to 17 inches once dry and in pattern. This is not damage, simply that a curved strand covers less vertical distance than a straight one. Measure your client to the finish point she wants and order a size up from there.
Can these bundles be worn straightened?
They can be blow dried and ironed, and the pattern returns after washing. Do it sparingly. Repeated ironing on a deep texture loosens the formation permanently over the life of a set, and a client who wants to alternate weekly is better off owning a straight set as well.
How many bundles does a full head take?
Three at 16 to 20 inches, four at 22 inches or longer. Judge the client's density too: a fine haired client with a lot of scalp to cover may need the fourth bundle sooner, while naturally thick hair often needs less, because her own texture is doing part of the work.
Shade matching a textured weft is harder than straight hair because the curve throws shadow. Send photographs to the free colour match service, or match in person with the colour ring, refundable against a first trade order. There are 60+ shades in the WAVE range. Salon professionals can register for a trade account and take from 20% off retail, up to 30%, no joining fee, no minimum spend, approval normally within 48 hours.
Fitting
Our deluxe weft hair extensions are applied by a professional stylist using either the micro-ring weft or sew-in method. Both are heat-free, glue-free and braid-free for a damage-free result.
How much you need
Weft is sold by weight, so you can build the exact fullness you want. Around 150g suits most people for a full head; thicker or longer hair may need more.
