Long curly clip in hair extensions in Deep Wave, graded 2C/3A, where a springy wave opens into a loose curl through the last few inches. Think about volume before length. A 2C/3A pattern already looks fuller than its weight suggests, because curl occupies space that straight hair does not, and 150g of it at 24 inch is a lot of hair by any measure. On thick or coarse curly hair that is exactly the point. On fine hair it is too much: the clips have nothing solid to sit in, the weight pulls, and the width at the bottom stops looking like it grew there. Fine hair should take the 100g set at 16 to 20 inch instead.

More rows, more grip. Build from the nape in horizontal lines, tease each root before the clip goes on, seat the centre first and let the outer clips follow. Because curl adds bulk, leave a little more vertical space between rows than you would with a straight set, or the sections stack and push each other outwards.
Conditioner is your detangler. Fingers, then a wide tooth comb, and only ever on wet slippery hair. A dry brush through a set this size will cost you the curl definition permanently. Take it off at night and plait it loosely, or coil it in a wide loop, and it will need almost nothing in the morning.
Remember what curl does to a measurement. These wefts are cut at 20, 22 and 24 inch pulled straight, and the finished drop on your body sits well above that once the pattern releases, with the deepest loss at the longest length.
Will 150g of curly hair look too big?
It can, on the wrong head of hair. Curl already reads as volume, so this set adds width as well as length. If you want the length without the bulk, have a stylist remove weight from the underneath sections with point cutting, which thins the silhouette while leaving the curl pattern intact.
How do I stop it tangling at the nape?
The nape row rubs on collars and coats, which is where matting starts. Keep conditioner off the clip bases so nothing slips, plait the lowest section loosely if you are out all day in a scarf, and detangle that row first when you take the set off rather than last.
Can I straighten a Deep Wave set?
Occasionally, with a heat protectant and a moderate temperature. Be aware that a 2C/3A pattern loosens a little with every straightening, and enough passes will leave you with hair that no longer springs back. If you want both looks regularly, own a straight set as well rather than reheating this one.
Do I need more rows than for the 100g set?
Yes. The whole reason a heavy set stays comfortable is that no single clip carries too much of it. Plan on additional rows spread further up the head, each with a solid section of your own hair behind it, and the 150g will sit as easily as 100g does.
