Rows go in from the nape upwards, lightly backcombed at each root, centre clip pressed before the outside ones. Wavy sets are more forgiving than straight ones here: the S pattern breaks up the horizontal edge of the weft, so a row that would be visible under flat hair simply disappears under this one.
Never take a dry brush to it. Work conditioner through with your fingers, then a wide tooth comb from the ends up while it is still slippery. Sulphate free shampoo, cool rinse, squeeze rather than rub, and air dry. Out at night, every night, then loosely coiled rather than folded.
On length: measured pulled straight, a 20 inch weft is 20 inch. Worn, the wave springs back and the same set hangs closer to 18. Order by how long you want it to look, not by the tape measure.
Do I need product to keep the wave?
No. The wave is in the hair, not put there with heat, so it comes back on its own every time the set dries. A light leave in stops frizz on a damp day if you want one, but the pattern does not depend on it. Avoid anything heavy, which drops the S out flat.
Can I brush a wavy set?
Not dry. Dry brushing pulls the S apart and leaves a halo of frizz that will not go back. Use your fingers to separate, or a wide tooth comb only when there is conditioner through the hair. If it needs reviving between washes, mist it with water and scrunch upwards.
Will it blend with 3A hair?
Usually yes, if you wear your 3A loose rather than defined. Against a tightly defined 3A curl this pattern looks slightly relaxed at the ends. Against air dried 3A it disappears. If your curl is springy and closer to a spiral, the Deep Wave set at 2C/3A is a nearer match.
Can I straighten it?
You can, occasionally, with a protectant and a moderate iron. Understand the trade off: every pass loosens the pattern a little, and repeated straightening will eventually cost you the S altogether. If you want straight hair most of the time, buy the straight set and keep this one for wavy days.
