Water wave bundles sit at 2C/2B: a clean S bend that repeats down the length without closing into a ringlet. Look at her hair washed and left alone. If it dries into a broad S that lies close to the head and never quite spirals, that is 2C/2B. Where she sits between two patterns, take the looser one: a looser weft can be encouraged tighter with product and a diffuser, while a weft tighter than her own hair will always sit proud of it.
Remy describes how the hair is sorted, not just that it is human. Strands are kept in their original orientation so every cuticle points from root down towards the tip. Aligned cuticles are why this weft still combs cleanly at month six instead of felting at the nape, where tangling always starts.

Fitted by sew-in on a braided track, braidless weave or microring row. Keep rows slightly further apart than you would on straight hair and stagger them, because the bend creates its own lift and packed rows read as bulk at the sides. Three bundles suit a full head to 20 inches; go to four from 22 inches, since the pattern eats into the hanging length and thin ends show badly on a long set.
Sulphate free shampoo, squeezed rather than rubbed. Let conditioner sit while you detangle with a wide tooth comb from the ends up, and never comb it dry. Scrunch water out with a cotton t-shirt, add a light leave-in through the mid-lengths, then air dry or diffuse low. Every straightening pass costs definition. Handled properly the hair gives up to nine months.
Allow for pattern take-up when quoting length. Once the S has dried and formed, a 20 inch water wave hangs roughly an inch or two shorter than the tape says, which is mild next to the deeper textures but enough to matter on a shoulder length target.
What is the difference between water wave and deep wave?
Water wave is the looser of the two. It runs as a repeating S bend that never fully closes, so it reads as wavy hair with body. Deep wave carries more turns per inch and forms an actual curl through the mid-lengths and ends. For movement rather than curl, water wave is the one.
Can water wave bundles be straightened?
Yes, with a heat protectant at a moderate temperature. Every pass relaxes the pattern slightly, and although it returns after washing it comes back a little looser on hair ironed weekly. A client who wants to wear it smooth most days is better served by the straight weft.
How many bundles for a full head?
Three bundles at 16 to 20 inches, four at 22 inches and above. Textured hair reads as fuller than straight hair at the same weight, so three is genuinely enough on mid lengths, and the fourth bundle earns its place mainly on long sets where the ends need weight.
How should the hair be kept overnight?
Loosely plait it, or gather it into a soft pineapple on top of the head, and cover with a satin bonnet or use a satin pillowcase. Cotton pulls moisture out and roughs the cuticle, which is what turns a defined wave into frizz by the third day.
